Argan Oil – Nature’s Gift To Our Skin
What is argan oil? It’s a rare oil that is high in both oleic (omega 9monounsaturated nonessential) and linoleic (omega 6 unsaturated) fatty acids, both of which aid acne-prone skin (which is usually deficient in linoleic acid in the subum). (2b) Depending on its sourcing, argan oil contains about 35–40 percent linoleic acid and 42–48 percent oleic acid. While linoleic acid will reduce inflammation and acne and increase skin moisturization levels, oleic acid can improve the skin’s permeability and assist other ingredients penetrate the skin more easily. Ok, thats the scientific answer. What is argan oil? Just about the best thing nature ever gave aging, dry or stressed skin! I use it religiously and when I am traveling with just an overnight bag, I can replace about 10 products with this little bottle of liquid gold. My skin loves it!
Argan oil makes an amazing cleanser and make up remover. First use it on a soft tissue or cotton round and remove make up. It works wonders! I use it on long lasting eyeliner and even LIPSENSE which is bulletproof. It does the job without tugging. Next put it all over your face and neck and let it sit there while you brush your teeth before bed. After brushing take a hot washcloth and just press it into your skin. Follow with moisturizer and you will wake up glowing & fresh as a daisy!
I run some argan oil through my hair before going into the pool or jacuzzi as I feel it adds a layer of protection from chlorine. Also on days when I am going to wash my hair I put I smooth in a tablespoon or so and let it sit for 15 minutes before I jump in the shower. A drop or two as a leave in conditioner leaves hair shiny and manageable.
Argan oil is magic for split ends after straightening or curling hair. If you mix it in with your favorite essential oil, like lavender or orange, it also makes your hair smell divine all day.
Forget the speciality oil you buy at the beauty supply. Argan oil does the trick every time.
I will mix a drop of argan oil in my lotion and add extra to knees, elbows and heels. It also works great for areas you want to pick up less color when using a sunless tanner.
Bug Bites & Rashes
Argan is very soothing and calms skin irritations without harsh chemicals. It seems to speed up the healing process.
Ok friends….I know some of you are terrified to put oil on your face. You are afraid that it will cause acne or clogged pores. It won’t, I promise.
You can buy Argan oil online through many sources. I buy mine through a great company call Make Up Artist Choice. They have great prices and I trust I am getting the real deal. http://www.makeupartistschoice.com
